As Terrapin Landscapes’ work grew in scale and sophistication, so did their need for a website that could keep pace. A decade into our partnership, Terrapin Landscapes came to flyte new media ready for a digital transformation that matched the caliber of their work. Their new website needed to elevate their growing portfolio, communicate their design philosophy, and honor their roots in Maine’s natural beauty.
Their previous site no longer represented the level of luxury their projects had achieved over the past ten years. They needed a modern, visually compelling site that showcased their portfolio, clearly communicated their design philosophy, and encouraged clients to consider both design and installation under one roof. Just as importantly, the new site needed to provide a flexible space to share new project photography and continue supporting search visibility.
SOLUTION
Working closely with Terrapin’s leadership team, flyte new media designed and developed a new WordPress website that balanced elegance with the brand’s approachable, Maine personality. The site has a clean, uncluttered feel with subtle movements and bold colors reminiscent of the Atlantic Ocean and changing autumn leaves that serve to draw the user through each element. Plenty of emphasis is given to their wealth of gorgeous project photos.
When it came to copywriting, we sat down with Terrapin’s team for an extended conversation designed to move beyond services and surface details. We wanted to hear how the Terrapin team talks about their craft—their tone, their energy, and the stories that reveal what they value most. That dialogue unearthed the kind of personal insights that make copy feel lived-in and genuine—like the origin of the company’s name, a quiet nod to the Grateful Dead.
