CHALLENGE

Hitting a new growth period in their motorcycle handlebar business, HeliBars knew they wanted to dedicate more efforts to digital advertising and SEO. Unfortunately, as a small team focused on customer interactions and product development, they just didn’t have the time to handle things in house.

Their advertising was limited to print ads and they knew they were missing out on opportunities to reach riders online. Lacking the analytical tools to understand how different digital channels drove sales, they were feeling lost on how to identify their best digital opportunities.

SOLUTION

To outrank the competition at Google, flyte began by identifying the best target keywords for HeliBars’ key pages as well as broader keyword lists they could choose from when optimizing individual products. We re-wrote and updated critical SEO data like title tags and meta descriptions and collaborated with them to write more compelling, keyword-driven copy for their homepage and category pages.

Meanwhile our Paid Search Specialist set them up in Google Ads, combining the organic keyword research from SEO with paid search research to begin targeting product based terms through paid ads. We assisted in creating and optimizing their Google Merchant Center to enable shopping ads which have since become the best performing ad type for HeliBars.

Once the main pages were optimized we began writing search optimized blog posts. This drove more top-of-funnel search traffic to their site and built trust with potential customers. In addition to blog copy, we created coordinated promotional images and post copy for social media, and delivered email newsletters. These blog posts have nearly doubled their organic search traffic year over year and resulted in some of the highest open rates on any of their email communications.

At every stage of the journey we prioritized educating the HeliBars team so that they could understand and replicate some of our marketing practices. We are now in the third year of our partnership with HeliBars and have seen immense growth from both paid and organic marketing tactics.
